Winners: John Wilkinson/Roger Hage (Mitsubishi Lancer)
John Wilkinson/Roger Hage moved from third place at Petrol to take the win on Matlock MC’s AB Motorsport Rally. Crews tackled a 130 mile route of sparsely used lanes in Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire.
Guy Robinson/Graham Raeburn and Stan Featherston/Mike Ogram shared the lead at the halfway halt, with the eventual winners 16 seconds behind. The faster second half favoured the more powerful cars and a close battle developed between Wilkinson/Hage and Robinson/Raeburn. The matter was decided at ITC30 where the Lancer crew were 23 seconds faster, overhauling the Impreza pairing and taking the win by just six seconds.
Craig Burgess/Lee Burgess charged through from sixth at Petrol to snatch third, just in front of the father and son crew of Alister Chalmers/Ric Chalmers. Featherstone/Ogram finished fifth.
Andy Lane/Graham Dance were the clear winners a poorly supported Historic Rally, they finished seven minutes clear of their nearest rival.
