Winners: Roger Hunt/Graham Dance (Vauxhall Nova)
Roger Hunt/Graham Dance (Vauxhall Nova) took a closely fought victory on Exmouth MC's Barbara Carter Memorial Rally. This made it two victories in succession on the event; in 2004 the pair had had to share the spoils with two other crews, in 2005 they were clear winners.
The first half of the 130 mile rally used the roads around Kennford and Haldon Forest, before moving to the West Hill and Exmouth area for the second half.
Three crews arrived at Petrol with clean sheets, all then dropped a minute on the same section before Hunt/Dance broke clear by charging through a series of tracks on the next section. They cleaned the section as Richard Endean/Kevin Willis (Peugeot 205 GTi) and Simon Robison/Perry Roe (Skoda Fabia) both picked up another one minute penalty. The final positions between these two crews had to be decided on the engine capacity tie break.
Ian Orford/Bob Jones also finished on two minutes; they were a minute down in the first half and were classified fourth on the furthest clean tie break.
Adrian Beer/Glynn Moore, who had also been one one minute at Petrol, drowned out in Stowford Ford and then lost further time after getting stuck in a ditch. They eventually finished in 25th place. Andy Hewett/Nigel Hewett (Vauxhall Nova) retired after wrong slotting on to the A380.
The Club Rally was won by Jo Tucker/Sean Derwitt (Vauxhall Nova), who were the only finishers in the category. Thirty-one of the thirty-eight starters made it to the finish.
