The Maple Garages Beaver Rally saw John Haden/Iain Tullie take their third win of the year together.
Runners Up: Guy Robinson/Charlie Wheeldon (Vauxhall Nova)

The Beverley & District MC event used a 135 mile route in the Humberside area. Thirty-eight cars started the rally with thirty-three making it to the finish.
Haden/Tullie had a night long battle with Guy Robinson/Charlie Wheeldon. The Subaru pair were second fastest at IRTC5, the first control at which all crews dropped time, Robinson/Wheeldon were 41 seconds behind. Haden/Tullie were then fastest at IRTC8 to arrive at Petrol 1m 09s ahead of Robinson/Wheeldon.
Sandie Taylor/Paul Taylor were in third place at the halfway halt, but lost time, along with most other crews, navigating their way to STC15, immediately after the restart. They were then amongst a number of competitors who gained a fail for entering a blackspot. Terry Martin/Simon Bentley, who otherwise would have been fifth, were also penalised for the same offence. This was a major set back for both Martin and Taylor in their quest for the ANCC drivers’ title.
Peter Reeson/Roger Hage and Graham Reeson/Richard Hage were also caught out by the black spot and received fails as a result.
Both Haden/Tullie and Robinson/Wheeldon dropped time at just one control in the second half; the latter were eigth seconds faster to narrow the gap slightly at the Finish.
The 2001 winners Dave Twilton/Mike Petch had been in sixth position at the halfway point, but recovered to third place at the Finish.

Andy Beaumont/Matt Blood put their Proton Satria into the lead initially, by being 27 seconds quicker than Haden/Tullie at IRTC5, but they fell back as the night progressed and eventually finished in fourth place.
Despite a good run through the second half, John Dimbleby/David Dimbleby fell from fourth at Petrol to fifth at the Finish.
Tim Rogers/Roger Cunningham took the Semi-Expert Award, while John Savage/Paul Rhodes were the leading Novices. Having won the Historic section of the Cossack Rally, Colin Evans/Pat Gadsby repeated their performance on the Beaver.
