Maps: 121 & 122

Winners: Adrian Green/Ian Gibbins (Seat Ibiza)

Bruce Robinson Memorial Rally 2005

Adrian Green/Ian Gibbins were never headed as they took first place on the Bruce Robinson Memorial Rally. The Lincoln MC&CC event saw the 45 starters tackle 150 miles of slippery lanes and tracks.

The route included a run through the Biscathorpe Fords and Wickenby Airfield. Two separate sectors of the rally had to be cancelled after police intrusion on the event.

Green/Gibbins picked up the least penalties on the opening regularity and then led all the way to the Finish. There was a close battle for second place with Richard Chown/Mark Wagstaff just fending off a challenge from Martin Betts/Richard Hage.

The rally was the second round of the well supported HRCR Championship, Bill Wyatt/Graham Dance took top points, finishing in fourth place overall. Peter Scott/Cath Woodman finished with fewer time penalties but a missed board dropped them to eleventh place.

Top seeds Owen Turner/Graham Raeburn had a miserable night, they were delayed by mechanical problems and missed a PC and board. John Haden/Roger Hage went out with engine failure, while transmission problems stopped Ray Heathcote/Pat Gadsby. Forty-two of the 45 starters made the Finish.
