Bournemouth MC's use of 180 miles of twisty West Country lanes would have been challenging enough but the atrocious weather conditions meant that even the fastest crews dropped significant amounts of time.

Biss/Woodman won the fourth running of the event after taking fastest time on every section of the rally. Owen Turner/Graham Raeburn made it a small car 1-2 by bringing their Metro into second place.

Doug Kingsley/Ben Greenfield finished third despite having lost almost ten minutes when their car fell off its jack while changing a puncture.

As usual on the 'Bagger there was an extensive retirement list. Toby Adam/Byron Jones went out with lighting failure, Pete Johnson/Andy Berry hit a wall, while Peter Joy/Matt Fowle finished well down after spending twenty minutes in a field. Alyson Acreman/Matthew Maidment survived an off that pushed a front wheel back to finish in sixth place.

Gearbox problems caused Andy Lane/Paul Robinson to miss most of the final section; they finished in 28th position. Similar issues on their Cooper S led to the retirement of Pete Valentine/Mick Valentine.

Too many punctures caused the withdrawal of both Ian Mepham/Ian Collings (Peugeot 205 GTi) and Martin Leonard/Phil Jones (VW Golf GTi), while punctures and a persistent misfire persuaded Robin Eyre-Maunsell/Peter Scott to retire their Sunbeam Alpine.

A heavy landing caused the Peugeot 106 Rallye of Mike East/Roger Davidson to puncture and throw off its fan belt. They continued but had to then contend with a msifire caused by the exhaust manifold hvaing been crushed on the hard impact.

The Carpetbagger was the first round of the HRCR Road Rally Championship and Roy Gillingham/Peter Blackett took top points in their Reliant Sabre.
