The penultimate round of the Welsh Championship attracted a capacity 75 entries, although one no show reduced this to 74 starters.

John Davies/Neil Bevan dropped just five seconds on their way to winning the Greenleaves Rally, their third win in a month. The Sixty & Worcestershire MC rally was based in Knighton and used a 130 mile route. The wet weather that preceded the rally led to one section being scrubbed after cars struggled, firstly through a swollen ford, and then a muddy track.
Davies/Bevan had already secured the Welsh Championship, but the Greenleaves results meant that Davies was still on track to achieve a perfect 700 points in the series if he could finish first on the final round in December.
Tim Evans/Alun Probert took the runner up spot in their little Micra, while the last minute pairing of Merfyn Hughes/Gwawr Hughes took third.
Gerwyn Jones/Ceri Davies would have finished in the top three but for a three minute wrong slot on the last section. Phil Turner/Neil Spiers badly damaged their Escort after going off the road and rolling into retirement.
Brian Jones/Michael Hardwick failed to make the finish after becoming stuck on a white, while brake and gearbox problems put Derwyn Evans/Dave Evison out.
