John Davies/Neil Bevan took their second win in a week when they led Blackwood MC's Malky Rally from start to finish. The 120 mile closed to club event was run in traditional Malky weather – a gale. Despite this all controls were manned and the event was well received by competitors.
Davies/Bevan dropped just five seconds on the opening section and, with only one other penalty all night, they romped home well ahead of the field. Gary Jones/Andrew Card were fifteen seconds off the lead on the opening section and were lucky to hold on to second at the finish after they booked into one control thirty seconds early.
Carl Davies/Graham Dance were even more fortunate, they ground to a halt on the last section, however they retained their third place after the test became blocked after thirteen cars and the rally came to a premature halt.
The event was actually stopped by the police with two sections remaining; one competitor being booked by them.
