Ian Mepham/Matt Fowle took a closely fought win on the Pheasant Plucker Rally, emerging from a three way battle for the lead on the final sections to secure victory.

For the 2005 event Guidlford MC moved away from their traditional area of Sussex and Hampshire and teamed up with Chelmsford MC to run the event in East Anglia. Crews tackled 192 miles in Essex and Suffolk.
Mepham/Fowle had swapped the lead with Doug Kingsley/Ben Greenfield for much of the first half of the rally, the latter crew then started to pull out a comfortable lead. At the three quarter mark Kingsley/Greenfield were almost three minutes ahead when they struggled on the section up to TC58, they dropped 8 minutes, Mepham/Fowle were three minutes late at the same control which gave them the lead which they weren't to lose.
Andy Coshan/Nick Clarke were always close to the lead and came home in third.
