Phil Kendal/David Coles dropped just one minute to win Borough 18 MC's Powerush Rally. The event used a 150 mile route, with the first half using the lanes of the North Downs before crews moved to the Romney Marshes for the second half.
An inviting dead end track in the first half had a significant affect on the result, several crews wrong slotted up the byway and lost time as a result. Ian Mepham/Bob Blows dropped seven minutes having become stuck on the track, this was their only penalty of the night, they cleaned the rest of the route and finished second.. Chin/Nick Clark and Matt Endean/John Taylor were even worst affected by the same mistake and both these crews had to cut route to stay in the event.
Matt Fowle/Ian Collings had been holding a secure second place when the event reached the Romney Marshes, but their Peugeot 106 then broke a diff. The similar car of Phil Wilkins/Neal Allsopp went out when they rolled on an early white.
