Winners: Paul Morley/Paul Hardy (Peugeot 205)
Dolphin MC members Paul Morley/Paul Hardy took victory on their home club’s Wessex Road Rally. They completed the 120 mile navigational event clean of any penalty to finish five marks ahead of Gordon Popperwell/Brian Jaggs.
James Firth/Gareth Lewis were the leading Novice crew, finishing in third place overall. Fourth place had to be decided on the furthest clean tie breaker as Olly Smith/David Coles and Phil Kendall/John Stringer both finished with nine marks dropped.
Neil Lewis/Simon Lassam were sixth, a missed board added twenty marks to their score, without which they would have taken the Novice class win. Bob Wisniewski/Paul Lettington would have finished third after making the same error. Rob Dance/Graham Dance dropped just one minute on time penalties but three missed boards saw them finished in tenth.
Top seeds Simon Bush/John Upham had already missed a route check when they lost 12 minutes sorting out the navigation on Time Card 3 which was defined by a map tracing; they finished in eighth.
Martin Randle/Tim Bancroft, in their Triumph TR7, were the winners of the Clubmans Rally which ran alongside the main event.
Chris Freeman/Colin Sutton retired after holing the sump of their VW Golf GTi on a white, while mechanical gremlins forced thw Triumph GT6 of Graham Reeks/Jason Chinn out of the rally.
Graham Skeggs/Andrew Skeggs (Ford Fiesta XR2) completed the route of the Clubman Rally, but were OTL by the time that they reached the Finish.
