Wayne Edwards/Sharon Jarvis took a clear win on Aberystwyth MC’s Ystwyth Rally. The event, designed for novice crews, used an 80 mile route including classic sections over Nant-yr-Moch and Ystumtuen.
Edwards/Jarvis, competing in a Toyota MR2, led from the first section. By the halfway point they were over a minute ahead and they almost doubled this margin by the Finish.
Edryd Evans/Richard Briddon survived a scare when their Golf developed fuel feed problems but these quickly cleared and they stormed through the second half to grab the runner up spot. Geraint Hughes/Aled Roberts would have taken second but missed a route check.
It was a good night for teenage navigators. Richard Williams navigated father Andrew to third place overall, Katie Briddon took Geraint Jones to fifth, while Ceri Hughes guided David Roberts to a win in the Novice class.
Gareth Lewis/Justin Hinge were the first Beginners home.
